Round-4
Heats up with Eastcoast Finals at Budds Creek, MD
Dubbed as the 2008 Eastcoast Finals, the
Battle of the Imports heads to Maryland International Raceway located in Budds
Creek, MD where competitors in all championship classes look to score valueable
points before heading out west. "With three events down and this being the last
Eastcoast event, we know that racers are trying to jockey themselves into
position before making the trek out west," commented Frank Choi, Battle of the
Imports. "Chris Rado (Reading, PA) was an unexpected suprise at Atco Raceway
and he definitely caught the attention of the other competitors. The race in
the final round against Gary Gardella (Howell, NJ) was one of the best side by
side races I have seen in almost 20 years."
Marty Ladwig (San Antonio,
TX) is looking to gain some ground after his strong showing at the season
opener. "I am excited about coming to Budds Creek, MD," commented Marty Ladwig.
"We missed a tremendous opportunity when we missed the event in Epping, NH but
we had some issues at the time that could not be rescheduled. We are looking
forward to competing and showing the prowess of our Ecotec powered GM
Cobalt."
Norris Prayoonto (Springfield, VA) is the current points leader
in Pro-Stock but a semi-final round finish at Atco Raceway allowed Scott Kelley
(Anaheim, CA) to narrow the margin to a slim 75-points. "We are definitely
excited being currently second in points," commented Scott Kelley. "We are
looking forward to a strong performance in Budds Creek and know that anything
can happen with the five more events."
The event will also feature a
competitive carshow with over 100 awards available for imports, sport compacts,
late models domestics, trucks and SUV's. Fans have a chance to interact with
some of the industry's finest manufacturers such as ACT Clutches, Exedy Racing
Clutch and much more. The giant Scion "What Moves You" stage has plenty of
activitied in store such as go-go dancers, interactive games, live DJs,
swimsuit contest and much more.
