Portion of BOTI - Atco, NJ Cancelled Due to Rain
Day One of Round-3 of the Battle of the
Imports at Atco Raceway located in Atco, NJ was met with periods of rain mixed
with lightning storms that forced the cancellation of Saturday's qualifying
rounds for all classes.
However, the local forecast calls for clear and
sunny skies for Sunday. Qualifying will resume on Sunday morning with
two-rounds of qualifying followed by the remainder of the schedule which
includes eliminations, carshow and all stage activities.
"This wasn't a
typical 'rain-out', commented Frank Choi, Battle of the Imports. "There was
periods of heavy rain and winds which destroyed plenty of EZ-Ups and a freak
lightning storm that caused some minor electrical damage to the tower's
electronic components. Luckily, the folks at Atco Raceway are working non-stop
replacing timing equipment and computers."
Round-3 at Atco should
present some exciting action in Pro-FWD with Chris Rado's inaugural event with
the series. He is looking to be the first Pro-FWD competitor to break into the
6's. Gary Gardella (Howell, NJ) is looking to gain valueable points against
current points leader Ed Bergenholtz (Santa Ana, CA).
The event will
also feature a competitive carshow with over 100 awards available for imports,
sport compacts, late models domestics, trucks and SUV's. Fans have a chance to
interact with some of the industry's finest manufacturers such as Greddy
Performance, ACT Clutches, Exedy Racing Clutch, Impo Performance and much more.
The giant Scion "What Moves You" stage has plenty of activitied in store such
as go-go dancers, interactive games, live DJs, swimsuit contest and much more.

Lion Circle, after the circle turn right at 2nd traffic light. Go to the 2nd

From Walt Whitman Bridge take 295 north to Exit 36A, Rt. 73 to
Berlin Circle. After the circle go to second traffic light which 534. Take 534
east 3 miles to track. From Betsy Ross or Tacony/Palmayra bridge follow Rt. 73
to Berlin Circle. After the circle go to second traffic light which is 534.

Take NJ
Turnpike to Exit 4 or Rt. 295 north to Exit 36A. Take Rt. 73 south 10 miles to

From Shore Points
Take exit 88 off Garden
State Parkway,take Rt 70 West for 33 miles to Rt 206 circle, proceed for 2.3
miles on Rt 206,make a right at the second light ( Medford Lakes Road), go 2
blocks and make a left on Oakshade Rd, stay on Oakshade (RT534 West, for 7.3
miles and it will bring you right to the track. |
